Description

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (SFH) is an award-winning organisation, providing acute and community healthcare services to 500,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark, Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. With 5,800 dedicated colleagues, we operate across three hospital sites—King’s Mill, Newark, and Mansfield Community—delivering high-quality care and innovative services. We are proud to have been recognised by our colleagues as the best nationally for staff engagement, and assessed as Good in our latest CQC inspection, with King’s Mill Hospital rated as the only Outstanding acute hospital in the East Midlands.

Our new 5-year strategy, Improving Lives, sets out our vision of ‘Outstanding care, provided by compassionate people, enabling healthier communities’ which is at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with our partners across health and social care, and as an anchor institution, taking collective responsibility for improving the health of the population we serve, managing resources, and reducing health inequalities.

We are seeking an inspirational and compassionate leader to join us as our new Chief Executive. This is an exciting opportunity for a values-driven and progressive leader who will implement our vision and strategy, drive change and innovation, and deliver financial sustainability. You will play a significant leadership role across our system; quickly establishing credibility with our staff, patients and our partners.

As either an aspiring or existing Chief Executive in a complex healthcare organisation, you will bring a track record of delivering continuous quality improvement, demonstrate a relentless focus on patient experience, a passion for reducing inequalities, and be an exceptional communicator with a high degree of political acumen. A strategic, inspirational and inclusive leader, your track record of collaborating with stakeholders to deliver complex change and of driving operational excellence will allow you to successfully build on our solid foundations.

Our local population and our people are diverse, and we are committed to ensuring our board represents the diversity of our local community. We warmly welcome expressions of interest from the widest range of backgrounds who can bring diverse perspectives.

There is so much to be proud of in our Team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals. If you are excited by this opportunity to bring your leadership experience to make your mark with us, then we would love to hear from you.
